Starting From Zero is our entry pathway for complete beginners.

You'll begin with hiragana, katakana, pronunciation, essential expressions, and the foundations of Japanese sentence structure with guidance from a native Japanese teacher.

As your foundation develops, you'll transition naturally into our structured N5 curriculum.

You don't need to prepare before joining.

JLPT N5

Build Your Japanese Foundation.

N5 is your first major milestone in structured Japanese learning.

Our program uses Minna no Nihongo as a core learning resource, complemented by Ninja Gakuen materials, teacher guidance, practice, homework, and JLPT preparation.

You'll build the essential foundations of:

GRAMMAR · VOCABULARY · KANJI · READING · LISTENING · COMMUNICATION

But our goal goes beyond passing an exam.

We want you to understand how Japanese works and build a foundation you can continue using as your Japanese grows.

N5 is ideal if you:

Already know hiragana and katakana.

Want a clear and structured Japanese program.

Plan to continue toward N4 and beyond.

JLPT N4

Take Your Japanese Further.

N4 is where the foundation you've built begins to take you further.

You'll expand your grammar, vocabulary, kanji, reading, and listening while developing the ability to understand and communicate more independently in everyday Japanese.

Our N4 program continues using Minna no Nihongo as a core resource, complemented by additional practice, communication activities, homework, and focused JLPT preparation.

MORE THAN YOUR NEXT EXAM

For some students, N4 is also connected to a bigger goal.

JLPT N4 or an accepted equivalent can satisfy the Japanese-language test requirement for many pathways under Japan's Specified Skilled Worker (特定技能1号) system, together with the applicable skills tests and other requirements.*

For learners considering a future in Japan, N4 can therefore represent more than progress in the classroom.

It can be an important step toward what comes next.

Requirements depend on the applicable immigration pathway and field and may include additional or higher standards. Ninja Gakuen provides Japanese-language education and does not provide immigration or visa approval.
